Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Your journey through the breathtaking Middle Atlas Mountains begins with a pause in Ifrane and Azrou, where you can breathe in the mountain air and snap photos in the cedar forest. After a stop for lunch in Midelt, you’ll explore the winding roads of the Ziz Gorge, one of Morocco’s hidden green treasures. Finally, we will reach Merzouga just before sunset, where your camel caravan awaits. You’ll ride across the golden dunes as the sky turns orange, experiencing an unforgettable camel trekking trip. Ultimately, you will spend a magical overnight in a desert camp with a traditional dinner and local music, immersed in authentic Berber culture.

Overnight: Desert Camp in Merzouga

Day 2: Full Day in the Desert – Nomadic Life & Culture

After breakfast, you will discover the Sahara Desert beyond the dunes. Your journey will take you to Khamlia, where the Gnawa people will welcome you with traditional music. In addition, you can explore desert plateaus, meet nomadic families, and see the ancient irrigation wells that once supported caravans. For an extra dose of adventure, optional activities like sandboarding, quad biking, or a visit to the fossil mines are available. Ultimately, you will sleep in a Kasbah-style hotel or return to your desert camp for another enchanting night.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

As you depart the desert, your journey will take you to the towering walls of the Todra Gorge for a scenic walk. From there, you will have the chance to stop for tea with a Berber family in a local village. After that, your travel continues to the Dades Valley with its colorful rock formations and the winding road known as the “Monkey Fingers.”

Day 4: Dades – Skoura – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

  • Your journey continues along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, which is dotted with ancient fortresses and lush palm groves. First, you will pass through Kelaat M’Gouna, the heart of Morocco’s rose-growing region. For those interested, there is an optional stop at the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate. Then, you will walk through the famous Ait Ben Haddou ksar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, your travel continues as you cross the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech by evening.
