Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

 

 Morning Departure

  • Pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 AM.
  • Cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260m) in the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying panoramic views.
  • Stop at local Berber villages along the way.

 Visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (UNESCO Site)

  • Explore this famous fortified village, known for its appearance in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
  • Guided tour to learn about its history and Berber architecture.

 Ouarzazate & Cinema Studio

  • Visit the city known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” home to Atlas Studios, where many movies were filmed.

 Dades Valley & Overnight Stay

  • Drive through the Rose Valley and Skoura palm groves.
  • Arrive at the Dades Gorges, famous for its rock formations.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional riad/hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert – Camel Ride & Overnight in the Sahara

Toudga Gorges features stunning rocky cliffs and a winding river, showcasing the beauty of nature in a dramatic landscape.

Breakfast & Departure

  • After breakfast, travel to Todra Gorge, a stunning canyon with towering 300m cliffs—a paradise for rock climbers.
  • Enjoy a short hike through the gorge.

 Journey to Merzouga

  • Pass through Berber villages and the town of Rissani, known for its traditional markets.
  • Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes.

 Camel Trek & Sunset in the Sahara

  • Ride camels across the golden dunes to reach a desert camp.
  • Watch the sunset over the dunes, an unforgettable experience.
  • Arrive at your luxury or standard desert camp, enjoy traditional Berber music around a campfire, and have a delicious Moroccan dinner.

 Overnight in a Desert Camp

  • Sleep in a private tent (nomadic haima) under the starlit sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Sunrise Experience & Breakfast

  • Wake up early to see the stunning sunrise over the dunes.
  • Return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga for breakfast and a quick shower.

 Return Journey to Marrakech

  • Pass through Alnif, Agdez, and the Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest river.
  • Enjoy scenic stops and lunch in Ouarzazate or Ait Ben Haddou.
  • Cross the High Atlas Mountains again, reaching Marrakech in the evening (around 7:00 PM).
