Day 1: Arrival in Tangier

Drive along the Atlantic coast to the artistic town of Asilah. From there, continue through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Afterward, overnight in Chefchaouen.

 

First, discover the blue-washed Medina, Kasbah Museum, and local markets. You have the option to hike to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views. Then, overnight in Chefchaouen.

 

Visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Following that, explore Meknes, including Bab Mansour and the Royal Stables. Afterward, continue to Fes for an overnight stay.

 

Enjoy a full-day exploration of Fes, including Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, tanneries, and the Medina. Afterward, overnight in Fes.

 

Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Then, stop in Ifrane (the “Switzerland of Morocco”) and Azrou’s cedar forest to see Barbary apes. After that, continue to Midelt for an overnight stay.

 

Enjoy a scenic drive through the Ziz Valley. Afterward, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, for an overnight stay in a desert hotel.
